With 22 units sold to date, the Numarine 26XP Fast is a large-volume, expedition-style motor yacht that can be customized with a 4- or 5-cabin layout. Available in a displacement or planing configuration, the latter is equipped with more powerful engines and is aimed squarely at the US market.
In fact, the 85-foot model showcased at the Palm Beach International Boat Show 2023 for her world debut is fitted with twin MAN 1800hp engines for a top speed of 31 knots – fast enough to whisk you from Miami to the Bahamas in just 2-3 hours.
“The Numarine displacement explorer range has proved very popular in the US, but we know there are people out there who love fast boats, especially for weekend or day trips.” Says Omer Malaz, Founder and Chairman of Numarine. “We launched our first planning hull in the XP Series in 2018, but this version has bigger engines for those who want a very fast boat with big volumes.”
Numarine’s long-term collaborator Can Yalman designed the 26XP Fast’s exterior and interior. Naturally, clients are free to personalize the interior décor from a wide range of materials and fabrics. The naval architecture is by Umberto Tagliavini, another perennial partner of the shipyard.
Although the 26XP Fast has the same angular windows and vertical bow as her larger sisters, she is designed to offer the same comfort and amenities in a more compact package. In addition, the 26XP Fast’s modest draft makes her ideal for cruising the shallow waters of the Bahamas.
A standout feature of the 26XP Fast is the special 65-sqm (700 sq ft) flybridge, the biggest in its size category with space for a 3m (9.8ft) tender (alternatively, the space can be used for storing 2 jet Skis and a 4.5m (13ft) tender can be stowed on the swim platform). In addition to the second helm station, there is a shaded dining area with bar and sun loungers on the open aft deck. Clients can choose between an extended hardtop or a soft top for the flybridge.
“There are several key features that I love about the Numarine 26XP,” said Omer Malaz. “Large areas: the Numarine 26XP has large areas both inside and outside. The flybridge is the largest in the 85’ category. Comfortable cruising: seaworthiness of the 26XP allows you to travel wherever you want. The boat may cruise while you are sleeping or having breakfast and you won’t be feeling any discomfort. Fuel efficiency: you can burn less fuel. With 8.5 knots of cruising speed you only consume 17lt/h per engine.”
There is accommodation for 8 guests on the lower deck in two ensuite double cabins, a VIP suite forward, and a luxurious 26 sqm (280 sq ft) owner’s suite amidships that takes up the full beam of the boat. On request, an optional 5th cabin can replace the cosy observation lounge on the main deck forward.
The 48 sqm (517 sq ft) main saloon and dining room is light and airy thanks to full-height windows and the galley is conveniently placed adjacent to the dining space. A section of the saloon windows slides open to create a floating balcony over the sea. Including the sofa seating in the bow, the yacht boasts a total of 138 sqm (1485 sq ft) of exterior deck space.
The saloon communicates with the open aft deck via large sliding glass doors. Beyond the al fresco dining area and oversized sunbed, steps on both sides lead down to a generous beach platform (there is accommodation for 3-4 crew in the transom).
The yacht is designed in conjunction with Van Cappellen consultants to eliminate or reduce to a minimum all noise and vibration for maximum comfort. Moreover, an optional ‘Extra silent’ package includes an extended hardtop fitted with solar panels to supplement hotel loads and means only one generator is required.
Constructed using PVC foam with unidirectional and multiaxial E-glass and vinylester resin, the Numarine 26XP takes 6-8 months to build and the next available delivery is in March 2024.
